Richard Deacon is included in Sediment Spirit: The Activation of Art in the Anthropocene, on view at the Sainsbury Centre, University of East Anglia, Norwich, from 15 October 2023 to 14 April 2024. Curated by John Kenneth Paranada, Curator of Art and Climate Change at the Sainsbury Centre, in dialogue with the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research and Explorers Against Extinction, the exhibition brings together local and international works from the 1960s to the present that respond to the climate crisis. It is part of the season Planet for our Future: How do we adapt to a Transforming World? The other artists include Salvatore Arancio, Paul Cocksedge, Henry Driver, Ackroyd & Harvey, Karrabing Film Collective, Roelof Louw, Mario Merz, Paulo Nazareth, Tabita Rezaire, Anj Smith, Shireen Seno, Superflex, Derek Tumala and Emily Young. A new work made by Claudia Martínez Garay during a residency is shown alongside the exhibition.
