Galleri Susanne Ottesen presents Made of This, a solo exhibition by Richard Deacon, at Gothersgade 49, Copenhagen, from 23 August to 5 October 2024. The exhibition presents new works, among them Everybody's Looking For Something #3 and #4 (2023). The gallery introduces it with a statement by the artist: in the new works, across the different materials, the surface has become richer; the surfaces are not illusionistic but, in his words, celebratory and at the same time tightly contained, and each belongs to its individual work, whether on the wall or on the floor, giving it its particular character. Deacon adds that his works have always had a high degree of autonomy and that they are now "better dressed".
