17 September 2024

On Tuesday 17 September 2024, at 5:30 pm, Richard Deacon gives the lecture In Search of Something in the Grand Hall of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in Belgrade. The lecture precedes the opening of his solo exhibition of the same title, on Thursday 19 September at 7 pm at DOTS Gallery, Lower Kalemegdan. In presenting the event, the Academy describes Deacon's work as abstract and marked by experimentation with materials such as laminated wood, polycarbonate, fabric and clay, and recalls his collaboration with the Serbian sculptor Mrđan Bajić on the sculpture From There to Here, unveiled at Kalemegdan in 2019. The lecture is also available through the Academy's live streaming page.
