Richard Deacon joins RizzutoGallery

RizzutoGallery announces that it now represents Richard Deacon. Born in Bangor, Wales, in 1949, the British artist won the Turner Prize in 1987. His sculptures combine craftsmanship with engineering techniques and range, in a wide variety of materials, from the domestic and the museum scale to works conceived for the environment. Alongside sculpture, his practice extends to audio-video, painting, decoration and fine art graphics. Deacon has had more than five hundred exhibitions in galleries and public museums and has realised public commissions. After teaching in several British institutions, he taught for many years at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. In 2024 the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo named him Academician of Honour.
