11 June 2024

The Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo confers the title of Accademico d'Onore (Academician of Honour) on Richard Deacon. The ceremony takes place on Tuesday 11 June 2024, at 10:30 am, at the Cinema Vittorio De Seta in the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, Palermo, with free admission. The title is conferred by the Director of the Academy, Umberto De Paola, in recognition of the high value of the research Deacon has carried out in the field of sculpture, of the consistency of his method and of his activity as both artist and teacher over a long career. The ceremony follows a five-day seminar that the artist held with the students of the Academy. RizzutoGallery, which has represented Deacon since February 2025, recalls the title in its presentation of the artist.
