6 April 2024

Francesco De Grandi takes part in La Sacra Bellezza, a talk organised by Fondazione Merz at ZACentrale, in the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa in Palermo, on 6 April 2024 at 5 pm, with free admission. The artist is in conversation with Agata Polizzi, curator of the exhibition Giorni felici? at ZACentrale, and with Giulia Turconi, curator of the exhibition Sacro è at Fondazione Merz; the psychologist Albania Tomassini, formerly professor at the University of Turin, also takes part. The conversation addresses the value of the sacred in the visual arts and the role of catharsis and of prayer in the making of art, understood as a creative, ritual and spiritual practice. The talk accompanies the exhibition at ZACentrale in which De Grandi shows three large paintings.
