Francesco De Grandi. Il sacrificio del miele at the Galleria Civica di Trento
Galleria Civica di Trento (Mart), Trento, Italy
26 October 2024 – 9 February 2025
The Mart presents Francesco De Grandi. Il sacrificio del miele at the Galleria Civica di Trento, described by the museum as the most complete solo exhibition of the artist in a public museum. Curated by Gabriele Lorenzoni from an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi, the exhibition brings together about seventy works and concentrates on the last ten years of the artist's production. The title is taken from a chapter of Friedrich Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra. At the centre of the exhibition is Medea nel giardino di Colchide, 2023; also on view are Sant'Onofrio, a previously unseen work made for the occasion, and 28 plates from the Atlante di anatomia immaginaria. During the installation the artist made Disegno sogni, a site-specific work written with the left hand on one of the walls. The catalogue includes essays by Valentina Bruschi, Antonio Grulli and Gabriele Lorenzoni.
