On 13 May 2026 the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo held Poetica dei materiali. Materia e linguaggio nelle pratiche artistiche di Antonella Genuardi e Francesca Polizzi, a doctoral seminar curated by the artist and lecturer Francesco De Grandi. The seminar took place from 3.30 pm to 6 pm in room PF11 of Palazzo Fernandez, with the participation of the two artists, whom the Academy presents as artists and doctoral candidates, alongside De Grandi as their tutor. Following an earlier seminar titled Il gesto e la sua funzione, the session looked at the correspondence between an artist's poetics and the materials he or she chooses to work with. The Academy describes its research doctorate as a ground for reading art history through artistic practice.
