Rimma Arslanov and Francesca Polizzi: There is a Crack in Everything at RizzutoGallery, Düsseldorf

RizzutoGallery presents There is a Crack in Everything, a two-person show by Rimma Arslanov and Francesca Polizzi at the gallery's new space in Düsseldorf. The exhibition opens on Friday 18 October 2024 at 6 pm and runs until Saturday 23 November 2024. The title comes from a song by Leonard Cohen: the crack is taken as an image of trauma and memory, and of the possibility of regeneration through art. Arslanov, born in Tajikistan in 1978, works in installation and painting on the theme of armour as an extension of the body. Polizzi, born in Palermo in 1988, works with organic materials, above all raw wool, along with wax, natural resin and brambles: sculptural bodies, prints and paintings on wool felt, and installations that refer to architecture, often with images of caves. From 23 October the show is open on Saturdays from noon to 6 pm, or by appointment.
