Since 11 May 2024 a work by Luigi Presicce has been part of the permanent collection of public art installed in the votive shrines of the historic centre of Parabita (Lecce). The project, promoted by the Comune di Parabita within Parabita per il contemporaneo, is curated by Laura Perrone and Flaminia Bonino under the artistic direction of Giovanni Lamorgese, and reuses old wayside shrines, some of them empty, lent by residents. Sixteen artists have taken part, among them Francesco Arena, Chiara Camoni, Claire Fontaine, Liliana Moro, Adrian Paci, Mimmo Paladino and Michelangelo Pistoletto. Presicce's Miracolo senza titolo (2024), in Vico San Salvatore, is a site-specific intervention in glazed ceramic and shells: a hand raised in blessing holds a small heap of teeth in its palm and is crowned by shells, with reference to popular devotion and to pilgrimage.
