Luigi Presicce curates Homunculus at Thalassa Gallery, Porto Cesareo
Thalassa Gallery, Porto Cesareo, Italy
8 June – 30 September 2026
Luigi Presicce is the curator of Homunculus, the third exhibition in the programme of Thalassa Gallery in Porto Cesareo (Lecce), on view from 8 June to 30 September 2026. The group show presents works by Francesco Carone, Dragana Sapanjoš, Cesare Pietroiusti, Namsal Siedlecki and Valentina Furian, with Giorgio Di Lecce as special guest. The title refers to the homunculus, the artificial being endowed with intellect that the press release attributes to Paracelsus. The exhibition looks at the links between artificial creation, the need for relationships and the symbolic dimension of contemporary life, and draws a parallel with present-day artificial intelligence technologies. In the show the object is treated as an autonomous element that accompanies existence rather than as an extension of the self. The opening took place on 8 June 2026.
