Thalassa Gallery, Porto Cesareo, Italy

Luigi Presicce is the artistic director of Thalassa Gallery, the first contemporary art gallery in Porto Cesareo, his home town in Salento. The gallery was conceived by Salvatore Baldi, who directs it, in the former house of his paternal grandparents, and was inaugurated in October 2025. Artribune describes it as a space open to the community and intended to be free from strict market logic. The inaugural exhibition, on view until 9 November 2025, pairs Thomas Berra with Edoardo De Candia (Lecce, 1933–1992), with Agnese Guido as special guest. The programme foresees three exhibitions a year and artist residencies, together with a literary salon, small concerts, guided visits and meetings with students. The invited artists are hosted in the adjoining bed and breakfast.
