Lucio Pozzi: Pensiline at Pelicula, Pesaro
Pelicula Studio Fotografico, Pesaro, Italy
16 March 2024
On Saturday 16 March 2024, from 6 to 8 pm, Lucio Pozzi presented Pensiline at Pelicula, via Federici, Pesaro, in a one-day exhibition curated by Alberto Zanchetta. The installation is in two parts: above, sheets of coloured polypropylene held up by supports that keep them from folding in on themselves; below, black-and-white photographs printed on Dibond. Each sheet is in one of the four colours that recur in the artist's work — yellow, blue, red and green — and the photographs pair images of newborns with riot police squads. The work derives from the Inventory Game that Pozzi devised in the late 1960s, from which he drew four mechanisms: above and below, gravity, four colours and dualism. The event belonged to Sondare l'altrove, a series of dialogues between the arts begun in 2018 in the studio of the photographer Michele Alberto Sereni, and was endorsed by Pesaro 2024 Capitale italiana della Cultura. An album with a critical text by Zanchetta accompanied it.
