14 March – 12 May 2025

From 14 March to 12 May 2025 the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, 686 Park Avenue, in collaboration with Magazzino Italian Art, presented Dialogues between Italy and America: Jannis Kounellis, Maria Lai and Lucio Pozzi. Curated by Paola Mura in consultation with David Ebony, the exhibition brought together three works. Pozzi made Consular Relocations (2025) specially for the occasion: a work in fourteen distinct but interconnected elements, each named after a sea deity of Greco-Roman culture, which explores spatial perception and the interplay of colour, form and structure. It was shown with Kounellis's Senza titolo (Omaggio a Fontana) of 1986, five steel panels, four clad in lead sheets and one painted in red enamel, and with Lai's Per Ille of 1984, an installation documenting her collaboration with the singer Ille Strazza. The exhibition opened on 13 March 2025.
