BOMB Magazine publishes an interview with Lucio Pozzi by Stephen Westfall

On 16 June 2025 BOMB Magazine published "Lucio Pozzi by Stephen Westfall", an interview subtitled "Playing with great seriousness". The conversation takes its cue from the artist's ninetieth birthday and from the New York-area exhibitions that marked it: the Cornucopia watercolours of 1982 at Hal Bromm Gallery in Tribeca, the three-person show with Jannis Kounellis and Maria Lai at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura on Park Avenue, and Lucio Pozzi: Qui Dentro / In Here, the survey curated by David Ebony at Magazzino Italian Art in Cold Spring. Pozzi and Westfall discuss Diaspora (2018), a constellation of painted plywood pieces installed differently each time; the use of empty space as a compositional element; the recurring palette of red, yellow, blue and green; the artist's game-like approach, with rules that can change; and his way of working quickly in acrylic on canvas laid on the floor.
