Katharina Maderthaner takes part in MELTING SANDS – Glas in der zeitgenössischen Kunst, a group exhibition on glass in contemporary art at Sammlung Philara in Düsseldorf, on view from 18 October 2025 to 25 January 2026. The exhibition, curated by Julika Bosch and Hannah Niemeier, marks the 150th anniversary of the former Glaserei Lennarz, the glassworks whose converted premises have housed the collection since 2016. The fifteen artists are Gabriele Beveridge, Gwenneth Boelens, Elio J Carranza, Kasia Fudakowski, Paul Hance, Annika Kahrs, Yaël Kempf, Mischa Kuball, Katharina Maderthaner, Narges Mohammadi, Leonor Serrano Rivas, Mathilde Rosier, Jeremy Shaw, Slavs and Tatars and Jeanine Verloop. According to the local press, Maderthaner shows wall objects made in the Tiffany technique, among them pullovers, socks, a coffee machine and a cheese sandwich. The exhibition is funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Mondriaan Fund.
