Jáchym Fleig co-curates Ulrike Kessl: Ensemble living at Galerie Junge Kunst, Trier
Galerie Junge Kunst (Kunstverein Trier Junge Kunst), Trier, Germany
8 February – 9 March 2025
Jáchym Fleig and Christoph Jakobs curated Ensemble living, an exhibition of objects, installation and drawings by Ulrike Kessl at Galerie Junge Kunst, the space of Kunstverein Trier Junge Kunst in Trier, Germany. Kessl, born in Rottweil in 1962, lives and works in Düsseldorf. The exhibition included works from the ten-part series Ensemble living (2021/24), together with drawings and textile collages. The wall works, made in 2021 during the pandemic, use household items such as lampshades, curtains and table frames, as well as clothing. An installation of garments on the façade of the building was planned to extend the exhibition outdoors. The exhibition ran from 8 February to 9 March 2025; at the opening on 7 February the introduction was given by the art historian Anne Rodler.
