Jáchym Fleig co-curates Andreas Exner: Angewandte monochrome Malerei at Galerie Junge Kunst, Trier
Galerie Junge Kunst (Kunstverein Trier Junge Kunst), Trier, Germany
14 December 2024 – 26 January 2025
Sebastian Böhm and Jáchym Fleig curated Angewandte monochrome Malerei, an exhibition by Andreas Exner at Galerie Junge Kunst, the space of Kunstverein Trier Junge Kunst in Trier, Germany. Exner, born in Gelsenkirchen in 1962, studied painting at the Städelschule in Frankfurt. In Trier he presented the installation LASCAUX MAGENTA OPEL ASTRA CARAVAN, in which monochrome colour fields are fitted into the side windows of an ordinary car; the street in front of the gallery thus became part of the exhibition space. The series to which the work belongs is described by the Kunstverein as situated between painting, sculpture and context-based installation. The exhibition ran from 14 December 2024 to 26 January 2025; at the opening on Friday 13 December the introduction was given by Jutta Obenhuber.
